    Stasht LLC ("Stasht," "we," "our," "us") cares deeply about the privacy of individuals who use our website at https://stasht.app, our Instagram DM-based service, and any future apps, products, or services we provide (collectively, the "Services").

    This Privacy Policy explains how Stasht collects, uses, processes, discloses, and safeguards information from and about users ("you"). It also describes your rights and choices with respect to your information and how you can contact us.

    By using Stasht, you agree to this Privacy Policy and to our Terms of Service.

    1. Information We Collect

    Personal Information You Provide

    • Registration & Waitlist: If you join our waitlist, create an account (when available), or provide your email, we collect your name and email address.
    • Communications: When you DM us content, reach out via email, or submit feedback, we may collect your contact information and the contents of your message.

    Information Collected Automatically

    • Content You Stasht: When you DM a Reel or other content to Stasht, we collect the URL and related metadata (e.g., caption text, tags, platform information).
    • Device & Usage Data: We may collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, device model, operating system, and interaction patterns.
    • Cookies & Similar Technologies: We use cookies and similar technologies on our website to improve functionality and measure usage.
    • Location Information: With your permission, we collect imprecise or precise location data to help you find Stashes near you, verify venue details, and display content on the Map. We use third-party services (such as Google Maps) to process this location data to provide correct addresses and business details.

    2. How We Use Information

    We use your information to:

    • Provide and improve the Services (e.g., saving, tagging, and organizing your stashes).
    • Create your personal "Stash Page" once you've met eligibility criteria.
    • Communicate with you (including responding to support requests, feature updates, or waitlist/newsletter emails).
    • Analyze how users interact with Stasht to make it better.
    • Ensure safety, security, and compliance with applicable laws.

    3. How We Share Information

    We may share information:

    • We share data with specific third-party processors to provide the Service's core functionality:
      • Infrastructure & Hosting: We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) to host our application, store media, and manage databases.
      • AI & Content Analysis: We use OpenAI and Amazon Bedrock to analyze text and images you submit (such as extracting text from screenshots or organizing stashes) and to power search functionality via Amazon OpenSearch.
      • Mapping & Location: We share location queries with Google Maps Platform to identify businesses, display maps, and enrich venue details.
      • Calendar Integration: If you choose to sync events, we share event details with Google Calendar to manage your schedule.
      • Social Platform Integration: When you save content from platforms like Instagram (Meta), TikTok, X (Twitter), or YouTube (Google), we may interact with their APIs to validate links, retrieve metadata, and display embedded content. These platforms may receive your IP address or interaction data when content is loaded.
    • As required by law, regulation, or legal process.
    • To protect the rights, safety, and property of Stasht, our users, or others.
    • In the event of a business transfer (merger, acquisition, or sale).

    We do not sell your personal information.

    Connecting Stasht to ChatGPT and other apps

    When you connect Stasht to ChatGPT, you authorize ChatGPT to request information from your Stasht library. Depending on the request, this can include saved text and links; images and other stored media; text extracted from images and stored transcripts; details about places, events, products and other things; location and date information; collections and tags; your notes and titles; and the dates you saved things. Returned information is limited by the connected Stasht account's access.

    We provide a stable account identifier and an available display name so ChatGPT can identify the linked Stasht profile. Your Stasht password is not given to ChatGPT. We keep records of the permissions you grant and the credentials needed to maintain and revoke the connection.

    Stasht processes the search queries and item requests sent through the connection. Semantic search may process query text using an embedding model hosted on Amazon Bedrock. We use operational information such as request timing, result counts and errors to run and troubleshoot the service. MCP operational logs are retained for 14 days.

    Information returned to ChatGPT is processed under OpenAI's terms and privacy policy and your applicable account or workspace settings. Connecting does not copy your whole library into ChatGPT or import your ChatGPT conversations into Stasht.

    You can revoke a connection in Stasht's connected-app settings. Revocation stops future access through that connection. It does not delete information already delivered to a ChatGPT conversation or another connected app; use that service's controls for information it retains. Deleting or removing access to an item affects future Stasht requests, not copies already returned. Previously returned media URLs can remain accessible to anyone who has them; disconnecting does not revoke those URLs.

    4. International Users

    If you access Stasht from outside the United States, please note that your data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other jurisdictions. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place where required.

    5. Data Retention

    We retain information only as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You can request deletion of your data at any time (see Your Rights below).

    6. Security

    We use technical and organizational safeguards to help protect your information, but no system is 100% secure. Use Stasht at your own risk.

    7. Children's Privacy

    Stasht is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we become aware we've collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

    8. Your Rights and Choices

    • Access/Correction: You may request access to or correction of your personal information.
    • Account Deletion: You may delete your account and associated data at any time.Deletion is permanent and includes your profile, stashes, and preferences.
    • Opt-Out: You can opt out of marketing emails by following unsubscribe links in our emails.

    If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or similar jurisdictions, you may have additional rights, such as the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

    9. Do Not Track

    Stasht does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
