Watch the parade for free, or march in costume
The 53rd Village Halloween Parade runs Saturday, October 31 at 7 p.m., rain or shine. Watching is free and open to everyone. The viewing stretch is Sixth Avenue from King Street up to West 15th; the organizer gives an approximate 11 p.m. finish. VIP viewing is handled separately.
Costumed marchers line up at Sixth Avenue and Canal between 6:30 and 9 p.m., entering from Sullivan Street, East Broome or Canal. Coming from the west, Canal is the only way in. Organizers ask people to meet friends away from the lineup, and the parade has zero tolerance for alcohol.
Check MTA trip planning before traveling. Don't rely on an old parade-night service notice.
Brooklyn Horror lands October 15–22, before Halloween
The 2026 festival runs October 15–22. At Nitehawk Williamsburg, 136 Metropolitan Ave, the lineup includes I Love Paris on Thursday, October 15 and a 35mm Trick ’r Treat on Friday, October 16 at 9:15 p.m. Check the specific screening and ticket availability before building an evening around it.
Nitehawk's house age policy is generally 18+ with exceptions. For showtimes at 7 p.m. or later, ages 13–17 need a guardian and under 13 aren't admitted. Check individual-film content and admission requirements.
Downtown Halloween Bar Fest: noon–8 p.m. on October 31
The organizer's current listing gives Saturday, October 31, noon–8 p.m. across Downtown Manhattan. It's 21+ with valid government photo ID. Check in at the venue selected when booking to receive a nontransferable wristband.
Entry is first-come and depends on capacity and venue discretion. The organizer recommends arriving before 2 p.m.; re-entry may require joining the ordinary queue. The event is rain or shine, with all sales final and no refunds or exchanges. Check the current checkout total rather than relying on a promotional price from an earlier post.
The preview below is @newyorklocals’ early-bird post from September 1. The $5 on its image was an earlier promotion, not a current ticket price, and the 30+ bars it advertises aren’t a promise of entry to every one. The organizer’s current listing sets the terms.
Stone Street Halloween Bar Fest: check the booking details
This is a separate event with its own booking and venue list, centered on Stone Street in the Financial District with additional bars named.
The ticket partner's current listing describes a second annual edition with Mad City Group, Saturday October 31, noon–8 p.m., 21+ and wristband entry. Its live booking view offers check-in locations, but doesn't display an explicit year. The page also gives conflicting check-in deadlines—2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.—and different promotional and booking prices. Confirm the event year, your assigned check-in location and deadline, and checkout total before paying; don't treat an earlier social post as the ticket terms.
The listing's FAQ says the event is not wheelchair accessible, takes place indoors and outdoors, and runs rain or shine. Food isn't included; no refunds or exchanges are offered. Those restrictions matter more than the headline ticket offer.

A bar fest and the parade overlap
Both bar-fest listings run until 8 p.m., and the parade steps off at 7 p.m. To catch the start, leave the bar event before it ends. Check your wristband's check-in window before planning anything around it, and remember that stepping out of Downtown Bar Fest can mean rejoining the ordinary queue to get back in. Watch from the Sixth Avenue stretch between King Street and West 15th; the Canal Street lineup is for costumed marchers. Check MTA trip planning that day, and leave time to find a viewing spot before step-off. Brooklyn Horror is a different week's plan altogether.
