Here are three DIY Halloween decorations, each for a different spot: a black vase with see-through bat shapes for a counter or table, a stack of three black jack-o'-lanterns for the front step, and old book pages layered in a black frame to display against a wall.
The bat vase comes from Morgan Winton, the stacked pumpkins from Christina Clericuzio, and the book-page art from Brenda Durrant. Each section describes what the creator's short Instagram video shows.

DIY Halloween bat vase with stickers
Morgan Winton (@ourwintonhome) sticks bat stickers all over a clear bubble vase, coats it with a black paint-and-primer spray, lets it dry and peels the stickers off. Wherever a sticker was, the vase stays clear, so the bats show up as see-through shapes in a few sizes. Pre-lit branches go in the top, dark with small orange lights, and the light shows through the bats.
In her video she sprays the vase outdoors, on gravel. The finished vase sits on a kitchen counter next to a ghost, a jack-o'-lantern and a candle. The branches spread wider than the vase, so give it room on either side.
In her post, dated July 8, 2026, she says to comment HALLOWEEN and she will send links to everything she used. For drying time and where to spray, follow the label on the paint you buy.
DIY stacked black pumpkins for a front step
Christina Clericuzio (@flipdaddie) turns a boxed set of three stacking pumpkins from Five Below into a tower of black jack-o'-lanterns, with the largest at the bottom. The box shown in her August 4, 2026 video says the stack stands 24 inches tall. Each pumpkin has a different cut-out face, lit from inside. In her video the finished stack stands on a brick front step by the door, and her post says it is for a porch or stoop. She says the look is modeled on a stacked jack-o'-lantern sold by Pottery Barn.
Two of the pumpkins have no face, so she draws faces on them with a marker. She cuts the faces out with a utility knife and warns viewers to be careful with it. She spray paints the inside of each pumpkin gold, tapes over the cut-outs to protect the gold, spray paints the outside in a black satin finish and removes the tape. Flameless candles from Marshalls go inside.
In her post, dated August 4, 2026, she says to comment SPOOKY and she will send a link to the pumpkins and the materials she used. She adds that she linked pre-cut jack-o'-lanterns too.
Halloween book-page art in a frame
Brenda Durrant (@creating__abeautifullife) tears old book pages, darkens the torn edges with an ink pad and layers the pages over the old picture in a plain black frame. She brushes something white over the pages and presses them flat under a sheet of paper. Then she lays a silkscreen on top, spreads black over it and peels it away. The design left on the pages reads "It's October witches", with a few bats above the words.
In the last shot of her video, the finished frame is displayed against a white wall, with a few old books and a small pumpkin in front of it on a wooden top. Her post, dated July 23, 2026, does not name the silkscreen or what she brushes onto the pages, so ask her in the comments.

About Stasht
We built Stasht because we kept saving the same kinds of things this guide is full of: places from Instagram, TikToks worth trying, articles, recipes, events, and links we actually wanted to use later.
Stash something and Stasht pulls out the useful parts: places, dates, links, hours, notes, and context. Then those saves can show up on your map, in your calendar, in search, or in a roundup when they are actually useful.
