For a fall day with kids in Austin, go to Uhland Fall Fest. It's a farm festival south of the city, open Saturdays and Sundays through November 1, with a petting zoo, shows and pumpkins sold by the pound. For an evening outside, Pumpkin Nights runs a half-mile illuminated trail at Pioneer Farms in northeast Austin through October 31. You'll need a ticket for a set arrival time.
For an adults-only night, Gibson Street Bar on South Lamar runs its Twisted Carnival through November 1. Entry is free, and it's strictly 21 and over. These are three separate options in different parts of the Austin area, with different hours.

Daytime with kids: Uhland Fall Fest
Uhland is open Saturdays and Sundays from September 26 to November 1, 2026, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. A single-day ticket is $20, with ticket fees already included and taxes added on top. Children 5 and under and seniors 65 and over get in free. A few other groups can too, but they need to bring the proof listed on the festival site.
Admission covers the petting zoo, the scheduled shows, games and entertainment. Pumpkins and optional vendor purchases cost extra. Carving pumpkins are $0.75 a pound, mini pumpkins are three for $5, and the train ride is $8. Other vendor activities are priced individually.
Put 39 Dairy Road into your map, not the festival's mailing address. That's where the free parking is. The festival says its grounds and restrooms are accessible, but it's a working farm and the ground is uneven in places. If anyone in your group uses a wheelchair or stroller, ask the festival about the specific areas you plan to visit.
Tickets are nonrefundable and the festival runs rain or shine. If you need a different date, eligible tickets can be changed through the link in your confirmation email, subject to availability and the ticket terms. Promotional tickets don't qualify.
An evening outside: Pumpkin Nights at Pioneer Farms
Pumpkin Nights is at Pioneer Farms, 10621 Pioneer Farms Drive, through October 31, closed October 5 and 6. In October, entry runs 6 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6 to 9:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Your ticket covers one 30-minute arrival window, and you need to get there inside it. Anytime entry is a separate VIP ticket.
The price depends on the night and the age. Pumpkin Nights' published October ranges, before checkout fees, are:
- Weekday: adults $24–28, children 4–12 $16–18
- Weekend: adults $34–38, children $24–28
Children 3 and under don't need a ticket. Fees are added at checkout, so the calendar figure isn't what you'll pay. On October 2 we checked one adult ticket for Saturday, October 3 at 7 p.m. The date showed $34 on the calendar and $38 once selected. The order total came to $44.27: a $36 base, a $2 local farm venue fee, $5.13 processing and a $1.14 service fee. Parking is another $10 per car, paid separately. That was one night and one ticket type, so go through to the total for your own date and party before you commit.
The trail is about half a mile over grass, dirt, gravel and sand, with some inclines. Pumpkin Nights says wheelchairs have found it difficult, so check with them first if anyone in your group needs a smooth route.
You can move a ticket to another night up to 48 hours ahead for $5 a ticket, if there's space. Moving to a cheaper night doesn't get you a refund of the difference. If severe weather postpones a night, Pumpkin Nights emails ticket holders a way to rebook.
Weather note, October 2, 2026: Pumpkin Nights' Austin page said the October 1 event was closed for storms and that the October 2 opening was under weather watch. Check the Austin page on the day you go. Being able to pick a date at checkout doesn't mean the trail is open that night.
Adults only: Gibson Street Bar's Twisted Carnival
This one is 21 and over, with valid ID, no exceptions, so it isn't a family plan. Twisted Carnival runs at Gibson Street Bar, 1109 South Lamar, from September 17 to November 1, 2026. Entry is free. The bar is open 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Thursday and 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday through Sunday, and the events page lists Saturday DJs in October.
You don't need a reservation to walk in. If you want a guaranteed spot for a group, the bar takes bookings for its cage rooms Thursday through Saturday through its reservation page. A booking gets you 90 minutes of reserved seating for up to six people, with table service. Drinks aren't included, and a 20% gratuity is added automatically to the bar tab. The price changes with the date and time slot, and a 7 p.m. Saturday can cost more than an earlier one. Check the booking page for your night rather than relying on the overview.
If anyone in your group has access needs, contact the bar directly before you go.

About Stasht
We built Stasht because we kept saving the same kinds of things this guide is full of: places from Instagram, TikToks worth trying, articles, recipes, events, and links we actually wanted to use later.
Stash something and Stasht pulls out the useful parts: places, dates, links, hours, notes, and context. Then those saves can show up on your map, in your calendar, in search, or in a roundup when they are actually useful.
